"I enrolled in the Diploma in Food Technology programme at The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) because of my love for food. This programme taught me about food processing and preservation, the necessary steps to be become an entrepreneur, as well as all the biological, chemical and physical aspects of food and the science behind it all.
Through workshops with incredible supportive classmates and lecturers, who were nothing short of champions, I was challenged to discover my critical thinking, planning and communicating skills which contributed tremendously to my aspirations of becoming a food professional.
The staff and lecturers were exceptional, they gave you beyond one hundred percent (100%) of their time and effort, paid close attention to all their students so they were able to pass their course/s.
When I reflect on my two years in UTT’s Diploma in Food Technology programme, I conclude that the experience gained was one like no other. It made me a better individual, helped me discover and truly understand how passionate I am about food. I would definitely, without any doubt in my mind recommend this programme to anyone passionate about food, but I would also let them know it’s not an easy journey and you may feel to give up; the right thing to do is hold strong and keep the faith and know that the reward at the end would be worth it.”"
