About Us

The Student Recruitment Unit (SRU) supports the University in its strategic objectives of student recruitment, by providing information, advice and support to queries of potential students. We represent the University externally, by organising recruitment activities to support the admissions process with the goal of attracting the best students to The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).

SRU is primarily responsible for the recruitment of candidates from secondary schools, companies and communities.  This Unit partners and collaborates with organisations such as NIHERST, National Training Agency, and various Ministries, faculty and other support staff in presenting UTT's programmes to its stakeholders. SRU also coordinates travel within Trinidad and Tobago, schedules visits, delivers presentations, attends Career Fairs, hosts Campus Tours, conducts school visits, meets with PTAs and assists with social group activities with the purpose of showcasing and inspiring interest in UTT's programme offerings.

The Student Recruitment Unit supports the enrollment of students by the distribution and retrieval of application forms from secondary schools and encourages online applications at career fairs and other public events. Interested candidates and applicants are provided with programme and application queries, guiding them along the way through the enrollment process to ensure that the experience is relatively easy and pleasant.

This Unit is headed by the Vice President of Research, Academic and Student Affairs.
