I would be a good class representative because I am a hard worker and I relate well with all of my classmates. Being a 'no-nonsense' individual, I refuse to let any of my  dear classmates 'slack off'. I consider myself and  my classmates a  team and I wish to keep it this way throughout our study time here, ensuring that none of us are left behind. If any conflicts were to occur I believe I have the ability to fairly resolve whatever the matter may be.

One of my best qualities is that I am able to take criticisms constructively. I enjoy extra-curricular activities such as netball and cricket, I also encourage my fellow colleagues to participate in all university activities.

I consider myself to be a determined, strong minded and mature student. I take the responsibility of being the Class Representative as an honor because I am very devoted  when it comes to seeing students' reach their full potential under the best conditions. I will try my best to fulfill  all my responsibilities and always lead by example.

My personal goal is to be the best that I can be and try to impact others positively. I am a good leader who is very open to listening and addressing everyone's concerns in order to resolve their problems to the best of my ability.  I wish to see all students in the Food Science & Technology Unit excel and become exceptional individuals in society.

I am presently pursing  the BSc in Food Science & Technology on a part -time basis.  This programme has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and is now allowing me to conduct my job in a more detailed manner.  I have a penchant for being a perfectionist; as such I am always on the lookout for ways to improve myself  in order to enhance my productivity.

Being elected as student representative for the last two years has also allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. Being exposed to the various issues that surround the students that I represent has taught me compassion, empathy and strength. Hence I think I have become a better leader and as such I am ready and willing to take on the job as class representative once again.

For the past three years in the Diploma in Food Technology, I have been the class representative and this year, I am honoured once again to take on this task in the BSc. programme.

I have taken pride throughout my life in being an individual who is outspoken yet respectful. Coming from a large diverse family who always got along, this taught me and assisted me to develop excellent communication skills. I am authentic in personality and like to speak directly  with persons so as to form a connection.  I am enthusiastic when it comes to anything I partake in and I encourage others to see the positive in everything despite the challenges. I take keeping my word  and confidential matters seriously. Being responsible for members of my cohort gives me great pleasure as I intend to serve with honesty and humility.

I like to think of myself as being mature, focused and goal oriented. When I am not busy working towards my dreams, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, reading novels, trying new foods and immersing myself in different cultures.

My background heavily encompasses customer service skills and my qualities include but are not limited to that of being empathetic when relating to people of different walks of life.

I try to keep a positive and proactive mind set when handling challenging tasks, and possess an out-of-the-box , problem solving style.

In terms of leadership I believe that I have a good balance of portraying tenacity and being a team player and for this reason and those aforementioned, I believe I will make a great Student Class Representative. I look forward to being of service to the Food Technology programme and my  comrades during my tenure this academic year at UTT, ECIAF.

I personally try not to judge individuals by their actions without getting to know  their circumstances. I am proud to  be given the duty of Class Representative because I'm a very outspoken and unique person who believe in standing up  for one’s rights as well as those of others. I  also try to be a voice for the voiceless. I would basically say that my personal motto in life is "Fall Seven Times And Stand On Eight". Being a student is never easy but in the end hard work always tends to pay off. Being able to take up this position as a class representative, would allow me to assist in motivating and pushing my colleagues  to work to the best of their ability.

I would like to think that I am suitable to be a class representative because I am approachable, I have good listening skills and  I think everyone in the class feels comfortable talking to me. My communication  and leadership  skills are  also good and  I show respect to everyone I encounter. I  believe that I strongly display advocacy  and organizational skills as well.

Most of all I am a kindhearted, caring & loving person and it is with these qualities I take pride in representing the part time Food Science and Technology class at Valsayn.

As I grow older ,being the middle child , I  have learned  to appreciate hard work  as I was always involved in the community  as a youth. I also learned about leadership, teamwork and being confident. As time passed I also learned honesty, integrity & loyalty.

As such, I honestly think I am the best person for the position as I interact, socialize and communicate with everyone in the diploma class.

I like reading, playing rugby, exercising and gardening.  I also like interacting with people and I am also open and receptive to new ideas or suggestions from my peers.
