The Trinidad and Tobago Energy Conference is the major annual conference of the energy sector in Trinidad and Tobago and is one of the largest and most respected in the region.  Each year members of the Energy Chamber are invited to submit projects in the categories of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Health Safety and Environment (HSE) and Energy Services, which is evaluated by a judging panel appointed by the Energy Chamber.

UTT Outreach in collaboration with Atlantic entered the category of Corporate Social Responsibility - Best Social Investment Project and was selected the overall winner for 2020.  The project submitted was the National Agricultural Business Programme, which is a joint initiative of Atlantic and UTT Outreach and Industry Relations Unit.

This programme currently in its tenth year, seeks to use agriculture as a catalyst to help create a more sustainable Trinidad and Tobago. The programme is designed to equip farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs with efficient business systems and new technological applications in agricultural - enabling them to become more competitive and viable.

Since its inception, the programme has graduated an estimated 300 plus agri-business practitioners. The intervention has also seen major entrepreneurial successes over the short to medium term. A recently completed tracer study on the programme’s participants  indicates that 86% of participants in the sample group have seen positive impacts on their enterprises over the period, attributing this to various models and skills taught in the programme.
