National Agricultural Business Training Programme 2018 Graduation

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) in collaboration with Atlantic LNG Company of Trinidad and Tobago hosted the Graduation Ceremony for the eighth cycle of the National Agricultural Business Training Programme on Wednesday 09th May, 2018 at UTT Chaguanas Campus.

At this year’s Ceremony a total of twenty-seven (27) persons graduated from the Programme .The annual National Agricultural Business Training Programme features thirteen (13) modules including Computer Technology for the Entrepreneur and Financial Planning.

Professor Kenneth S. Julien (Emeritus) T.C., Chairman of UTT’s Board of Governors congratulated the graduands as he spoke of the business of agriculture within a national context. He advised them that their role is a critical one as it actively contributes to food production, which is a priority for the country.

These sentiments were echoed by Senator Avinash Singh, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, who delivered the Feature Address. Senator Singh applauded the graduates for their passion toward their profession as he aptly described their work as “innovation at its best.”

Mrs. Caroline Toni Sirju-Ramnarine, Vice President-Corporate Operations of Atlantic and
Professor Sarim Al-Zubaidy, President, UTT, also addressed the graduates, urging them to turn their training and certification into practical solutions that redound to the benefit of their community and by extension the country. Deputy Chairman of UTT’s Board of Governors Professor Clement Imbert also imparted words of encouragement to the graduates.

The National Agricultural Business Training Programme is spearheaded through UTT’s Professional Education Unit (PEU). The Ceremony was chaired by Dr. Zameer Mohammed, Assistant Vice President, Professional Education Unit.
