UTT Patriots Netball team was crowned the Premiership and Championship division champions, while placing second in the alternative division of the Fast 5 Knockout Competition of the All Sectors Netball League (ASNL). The competition took place March 8 and 9, 2025, at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sporting Arena (ERISA), Tacarigua.
In the premiership category, UTT steamrolled its way to retain the knockout title, defeating Jabloteh 44-8, MIC 52-20, and UTC 51-12. In the championship division, UTT outlasted UWI 18-14 in round one of the competition, followed by a convincing 29-9 win over Police in the quarterfinals. The younger contingent defeated the Defence Force 23-14 in the semi-final, booking their spot in the title match versus their first-round opponents (UWI). In the finals, UTT emerged victorious over its collegiate rivals with a final score of 30-14.
After falling short in their first matchup of the competition versus Fire (11-20), the alternative team overpowered Police 20-2 and TT Post 26-8, earning them a spot in the finals against the Defence Force. However, in a hard-fought battle, the opponents edged past our Patriots women 24-26 to take the Championship division title.
On March 15, 2025, a combined UTT Patriots team returned to the court for the Courts Open Knockout Competition. The competition’s format permitted two (2) male players, which added another competitive element to the event. Bolstered by Keon and Emmanuel Russell, UTT defeated the Defence Force (47-12) in their first match of the day. After winning by default versus Police, UTT won the semi-final and final matches, beating Jabloteh 43-15 and tournament rivals MIC 30-23, respectively to retain the Open Knockout title.
