Professor David Alexander, Programme Leader, Energy Systems Engineering Unit, and Assistant Vice President, Research, Impact and Postgraduate Studies (Ag.) has been selected as the recipient for the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE) 2026 Regional Service Award for the Latin America and the Caribbean Region.

 

This award, which will be presented at SPE’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in Houston in October 2026, recognises Professor Alexander’s exceptional contributions in the field at the regional level, and is testament to his hard work and dedication to the industry.

 

Professor Alexander is deserving of this award as he has demonstrated outstanding regional service through sustained leadership in energy education and research. His achievements reflect a sustained commitment not only at an institutional level but also on a national and regional scale.
