New Student Orientation Week 2026 was all about our students- welcoming them, connecting with them, answering their questions, and helping them feel at home as they begin a new chapter in their academic journey.
We started on Thursday 10 September with our Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Engineering in Process Engineering students. It was exciting to meet the new cohort, hear their expectations, and see the enthusiasm as they began getting acquainted with their programme, instructors, and peers.
On Tuesday 15 September, the orientation continued with our Certificate in Process Operations students at UTT Point Lisas Campus. Throughout the session, conversations, questions, introductions, and interactions helped create a welcoming environment where students could start building connections from day one.
We wrapped up the week on Thursday 17 September at UTT San Fernando Campus, welcoming students from the National Engineering Technician Diploma in Chemical Engineering and Certificate in Process Operation programmes. One highlight was taking students on a tour of the laboratories, where they could see the spaces and equipment that will support their practical learning throughout their programmes.
There was something special about watching students meet their instructors, interact with each other, explore the labs, ask questions, and start envisioning themselves in their new roles as future process and chemical engineering professionals.
Orientation is more than an introduction to a programme. It is the first opportunity to say:
"You belong here. Your journey starts here. And we are here to support you along the way."
Wishing all our new students an exciting, fulfilling, and successful academic journey. We look forward to seeing you learn, grow, collaborate, and turn your potential into impact!
