UTT Patriots High Performance Volleyball student-athlete, Afiya Alexander (right), has been offered an athletic scholarship to Ranger College, Texas.

The 5' 10" Middle Blocker and Outside Hitter is one of the only two international student-athletes to join the Ranger's Women's Volleyball programme for the 2021-2022 season.

Afiya was a part of UTT Patriots Volleyball team for the past six (6) years. In 2015, she made her national debut at the fifth Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) Youth Caribbean Girls Championships.

Her most recent national appearance was at the U23 Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup held from August 9th-16th, 2021 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She was also selected for the Senior Women’s National team to compete in the 2021 North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Senior Women Continental Championship.

In her first national tournament at the senior level, Afiya captured the award for Second Best Blocker in the Women’s Final Four Qualification Tournament for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. She hopes to become a professional volleyball player in the near future.
