UTT Patriots Football goalkeeper, Aaliyah Alexander (left), and midfielder, Temia St. Clair (right), have been selected for Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) U20 Women's National Football team. Aaliyah, who hails from Scarborough, Tobago, and Temia, from Point Fortin, Trinidad, were chosen to be part of the national lineup that will compete in the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) Women's U20 Championships, from February 25 to March 12, 2022 in the Dominican Republic. The group phase of the tournament will run from February 25 to March 1, 2022. The top three teams of this phase will advance to the Round of 16 to be played from March 4, 2022. With a favourable performance at the Round of 16 stage, Trinidad and Tobago will move onto the quarterfinal stage, and will consequently have a chance at playing in the final round of the tournament, once successful. The top three countries overall will qualify for the 2022 FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in August 2022 in Costa Rica.
