Future Conservationist Awards

Applications for the 2016 Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) Conservation Team Awards are now open! CLP aims to advance biodiversity conservation globally by building the leadership capabilities of early-career conservation professionals working in high-priority places with limited capacity to address conservation issues. 

The Future Conservationist Award is granted to teams carrying out high-priority conservation projects lasting between 3 and 12 months. 

Projects should improve local knowledge, skills and attitudes concerning conservation, and reduce threats to biodiversity. The results from the projects should inform national action plans and international conservation priorities.

On top of this, winning teams are able to access expertise from within each of the three conservation partner organisations and via the Alumni Network that includes past award winners. Programme staff members are also available to advise on project implementation, including guidance required during the planning and team training stages.

How to apply:

All project teams are required to submit a completed application by 11:59 P.M. GMT on Monday 7 December, 2015.

Please note that no late applications will be accepted and applications must be completed in English. The application MUST also be filled out and submitted online and applications emailed to CLP will not be accepted.

We suggest that you download the guidelines and application form from the CLP website and complete the Word document offline. After completing the Word document, copy and paste the content into the online application form: Application website coming soon!

The awards will be announced in April 2016.

Award applicants are strongly encouraged to contact CLP and CLP Alumni Ambassadors well before the application deadline for advice or input on their proposal. Staff and Ambassadors can help teams determine if their project fits within the specified criteria, offer advice on methods and project activities, and put teams in touch with local partner offices or other experts who can offer advice.

Final applications MUST be submitted in English using the CLP online application site.

PRIZES:

Winning teams will receive grants of up to $12,500 as well as training and support throughout their projects.
