The Toyota Foundation is accepting applications for its Research Grant Programme 2016.

The Toyota Foundation Research Grant Programme supports research projects in accordance with its programme title, “Exploring New Values for Society”. The objective of the programme is to encourage ambitious projects that explore basic ways of thinking and methodologies on what approach should be taken to address difficult issues to be faced in the future and to disseminate findings that can be shared as new values for society.

The programme has two grant categories:

1) Joint Research Grants involving project teams
2) Individual Research Grants for research projects carried out by individuals

Both categories have no restrictions on the areas of research or the methods employed. For both categories, projects should be founded on creative concepts that reflect a youthful perspective and draw closer to new values for society, disseminating findings effectively in many directions and springing up a range of lively discussions.

Grant Amounts

Category A: Joint Research Grants

- Grant period 1 year: Up to around 4 million yen (approx. TT$251,000)
- Grant period 2 years: Up to around 8 million yen (approx. TT$502,000)

Category B: Individual Research Grants

- Grant period 1 year: Up to around 1 million yen (approx. TT$62,000)
- Grant period 2 years: Up to around 2 million yen (approx. TT$125,000)
