All International Students - Immigration Requirements/Updates

As the University nears the end of our first Semester for the 2018/2019 Academic Year, we trust by now that our International Students have initiated their Student Permit application to ensure that they meet the legal requirements to continue their studies at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. Faculty and Staff are encouraged to remind students to submit a soft copy of their Student Permit certificate upon receipt to the International Office (internationaloffice@utt.edu.tt) at the earliest.

We are aware that some of our students are travelling home for the Christmas vacation. As such, please share with them that upon return to Trinidad and Tobago they would be required to present a letter of re-entry to the immigration officers at the airport. All requests for re-entry letters must be submitted to the International Office at internationaloffice@utt.edu.tt. Students are encouraged to submit their requests for re-entry letters at the earliest.

For students who have not as yet initiated the Student Permit Application Process, we take this opportunity to reiterate the need for compliance with respect to the Immigration Regulations of Trinidad and Tobago 9 (6)(e):

"No person shall admit to any educational or training establishment
in Trinidad and Tobago any person who is not a citizen of Trinidad
and Tobago or a resident, unless that person is in possession of a
valid student's permit issued by the Chief Immigration Officer".

For all matters pertaining to international students, Visa and Immigration students are encouraged to visit our webpage at www.u.tt/international or send us an email if any further assistance is needed at internationaloffice@utt.edu.tt.
