UTT Patriots Athletics team members Umar Sandy, Kenan Alexander, Ajani Titus, Matthew Graham, Jy’ll Roberts, Nathaniel Semper, Carlos Browne and Athletics Coach, Antonia Burton left the shores of Trinidad and Tobago on May23, 2024 to participate in the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) All-Comers Meet which was held in Kingston, Jamaica.
UTT competed in the Men’s 100m, 200m, and 400m Dash, the Men’s 1500m Run and the Men’s Discus Throw events among other high-quality athletes, at Jamaica’s National Stadium.
In the Men’s 100m Dash, Graham secured his season best (10.79) while finishing forty-eighth out of 120 entries. Graham also placed fifteenth over forty-eight registrants in the Men’s 200m Dash with a time of 22.09.
Both Semper and Roberts participated in the 400m Dash event. Semper placed second recording a personal best (PB) of 49.28, while Roberts clocked in at 53.31. Of the 97 contenders, the duo finished in positions sixteen and fifty-six, respectively.
Out of twenty entries in the Men’s 1500m Run, Titus placed sixth overall recording a time of 4:25.26.
In the Men’s Discus Throw, Sandy placed second for the first time this season behind Jamaica’s reputable contender, Chad Wright, a finalist in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. Sandy, who experienced a winning season until this encounter, threw a distance of 51.19m, while teammate, Alexander registered a new PB with a distance of 44.68m.
