The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr Indar Narace on Monday 14 September, 2026.

Mr Narace was a cornerstone of our academic community, serving for 21 years as a Senior Instructor in the Energy Systems Engineering Unit (formerly Petroleum Engineering) at both UTT San Fernando and Point Lisas campuses. His impactful teaching and expertise extended regionally in the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering programmes at the University of Guyana (UG). For many years, he also provided vital leadership as the Discipline Leader for the NETD Petroleum Engineering programme.

Known for his compassionate, benevolent, and student-centred approach, Mr Narace was a dedicated mentor, advisor, and tutor to countless students and colleagues alike. He consistently went beyond the classroom, offering empathy, guidance, and support to students navigating personal and academic challenges both at UTT and UG. His encouragement and generous willingness to share his knowledge left a lasting impression on everyone who worked alongside him.

Mr Narace’s profound dedication, kindness, and long-standing service to UTT will be remembered with deep gratitude. His passing is a significant loss to our university community, and he will be profoundly missed by his students, colleagues, and friends.
