On Friday, 10 October, audience members experienced an unforgettable evening of classical and contemporary music at the annual APA Alumni Showcase, where members of the National Philharmonic Orchestra joined acclaimed UTT APA graduates to perform alongside the mentors who once inspired them.
Curated by APA faculty members, saxophonist Anthony Woodruffe, Assistant Professor, and bassist Caitlyn Kamminga, Associate Professor of Music, this annual event celebrates how The Academy for the Performing Arts (APA) nurtures artistic excellence that radiates outward into the community and returns home in renewed collaboration. Together, these accomplished musicians now serve as members of the National Philharmonic Orchestra, teach at prestigious schools throughout Port of Spain, operate thriving businesses in instrument maintenance and repair, and perform on stages across the diaspora.
The evening stood as a resonant reminder that the artistry born at APA continues to echo far beyond its walls - shaping music, mentorship, and the next generation of performers.
