Perreira Returns from WI Rising Stars U19 Championships

UTT Patriots Cricket student-athlete, Ronillster Perreira, and the Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 Men's Cricket team are back on home soil following their participation in the West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 Men's Championship tournament.

The tournament featured five (5) rounds of 50-over matches and four (4) rounds of three-day matches. Perreira, who is considered a bowling all-rounder, played in a total of four (4) matches, completing two (2) in each format.

The former under-15 national player was instrumental in Trinidad and Tobago's first win of the 50-over Championship versus Guyana. His bowling performance consisted of 3/8 (7.1), registering three (3) maiden overs, and showcasing his best bowling of the entire tournament with an economy rate of 1.12.

In his second outing, Perreira notched another three (3) maiden overs, while taking a tournament high of four (4) wickets in T&T's three-wicket win over the Leeward Islands.

In the Three-Day Championship, Perreira's best performance came versus Barbados, despite the team's loss. He was able to secure a tournament high of four (4) maidens, 2/30 (15.3), while capturing the second-best economy rate (1.94) of the team's overall bowling performance.

The tournament was held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 4 July to 1 August, with matches played over four playing fields across the island. Throughout both championship stages, Perreira achieved a bowling average of 9.89.
