UTT Student off to Russia

The eyes of the world are on Russia as the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be contested over the next few weeks. Among the visitors to Russia during this celebratory period are two (2) ambassadors of The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), who will represent both UTT and Trinidad and Tobago proudly, at the 2018 International University Sport Federation's (FISU) World Volunteer Leadership Conference.

Alumnus of UTT, Mr. Timothy Derry, who graduated in 2017 with the Executive Masters in Sport Management postgraduate degree, will serve as a mentor at the FISU hosted World Volunteer Leadership Conference after having represented UTT and Trinidad and Tobago in 2017 as a delegate.  Timothy placed first among 110 participants from over 90 nations at the Conference in 2017. Current third-year Bachelor in Sport Studies student at UTT, Mr. Mancini Mahadeo, will join Timothy this year as UTT's representative.

Mancini is no stranger to representing Trinidad and Tobago as he is currently a Senior National Beach Handball team member and is also the coach of the National under-21 Handball Team. Mancini has also represented Trinidad and Tobago in the sport of martial arts and was crowned the Caribbean Kickboxing Grappling San Shou Federation (CKGSF) Welterweight Champion from 2012 - 2015.

You, too, can successfully impact your life by navigating through tertiary education with a UTT qualification. Both Timothy and Mancini have transitioned seamlessly through UTT's programmes as they entered UTT at the Certificate level. Timothy successfully completed the Certificate in Process Operations and then went on to pursue and graduate from the Bachelor of Education with a Specialisation in Physical Education. This prompted Timothy's desire to pursue postgraduate studies in sport education culminating with him graduating from UTT with the Executive Masters in Sport Management. Mancini, on the other hand, began his UTT academic career via the Certificate in Sport Studies and is set to graduate this year with the Bachelor in Sport Studies degree.
