UTT Launches its First Academic Journal - The Caribbean Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (CJMS)

The University of Trinidad and Tobago proudly announces the launch of the inaugural issue of the Caribbean Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (CJMS).  The CJMS is a double-blind peer-reviewed open access journal that aims to function as a catalyst for scholarly discourse, research, analyses and reviews impacting the national, regional and international community in the arts, humanities, applied, natural, and social sciences.

The CJMS was conceptualised in 2020, with the aim of providing solutions to societal problems. The first issue has six articles on topics in the areas of education, performing arts, and engineering.

Professor Stephen Joseph, Assistant Vice President, Undergraduate Studies expressed his pleasure at having a cadre of distinguished scholars in divergent fields as part of the editorial team. Professor Prakash Persad, President, UTT also applauded the team responsible for the commemoration of this historic day in the University’s 18-year existence.

Similarly, Professor Clement Imbert, Chairman of the Board of Governors, UTT, commended the organising committee on their work, recognising the need to sensitise the public to work being carried out at the national University, whereby it fulfils its mandate to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. He added that this journal will serve as an additional source of innovation and research at the University.

This journal is another undertaking by UTT to make an impact to the benefit of all of society. A Call for Papers for the second publication will soon be issued to all interested parties.

The journal can be accessed at https://cjms.utt.edu.tt
