Dear Colleagues,

As you may be aware, the Certificate in University Teaching (CUT) has been offered to UTT's academic staff by The Learning Centre (TLC) since January 2018. The certificate is designed to provide UTT instructors with the opportunity to understand how their approach to teaching connects with student learning. It also exposes UTT instructors to the use of digital media and mentors the development of a student-centric learning experience. The fourteen (14) modules are sequenced in a weekly modus and with regards to time, approximately three to four (3-4) hours per week is required. The programme is facilitated by staff from TLC and often times a UTT instructor who has distinguished her/himself as a champion of eLearning.

In early May 2019, the fourth (4th) offering of the CUT will commence (ending the week of August 5, 2019) and TLC is inviting applications from instructors who are poised to engage in more interactive, engaging and technology supported teaching and learning. Forward looking, the CUT will be offered twice yearly (January to April and May to early August) and will be capped at approximately thirty-five (35) participants per cohort.
