The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Instructional Support (TLIS) is an agent for innovation in areas of learning technologies, instructional support, multimedia/audio-visual applications, physical and virtual learning environments, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. TLIS actively researches:

• Social Connectedness: The use of the CN Post in Canvas to support social learning. The CN Post breaks down the walls of traditional classrooms with the ability to connect learners globally within an online space;
• Learning Analytics: Harvesting and leveraging data repositories to perform an analysis on student online behaviour, consequently understanding and optimising modes of delivery. 

• Remote management, maintenance and security of structured/managed AV via Creston Fusion – the University’s AV management platform;
• Notification of display use and status;
• Offline/Online (security) notifications;
• Remote management of classrooms for Service Desk access and assistance;
• Campus-wide automatic device/system shutoff to decrease hours lost from systems when forgotten on;
• Programming of control, switching and source AV assets for classrooms, meeting rooms and all other spaces in UTT Commons that fall into the University’s managed AV strategies;
• Wireless presentation tools and technologies for class – and meeting rooms and other activities;
• Lecture capture expansion and its rollout to physical spaces in the University;
• The testing of software codecs for video conferencing, and their use as a viable alternative to more expensive, traditional conferencing codecs.
