The Learning Centre (TLC) of The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) is pleased to facilitate its third (3rd) cohort of The Certificate in University Teaching (CUT). This certificate course has been offered for the past two (2) academic semesters and is designed to provide UTT instructors with the opportunity to understand how their approach to teaching connects with student learning.

The Certificate in University Teaching contains fourteen (14) modules which are sequenced in a weekly modus. These modules are delivered by various moderators from The Learning Centre with the aim of addressing subject matters specific to five (5) core themes, namely:

1. Analysis Before Design
2. Designing the Course Blueprint
3. Developing Courseware
4. Implementation and Delivery of Courses
5. Evaluating and Improving Courses

Each module of the CUT contains learning outcomes, learning material and learning activities which equates to a workload of approximately three to four (3-4) hours per week. There is great diversity in the offerings of these sessions which will be facilitated using a plethora of modes including but not limited to the use of Canvas, Zoom or face-to-face sessions.

Collectively, the time spent taking this course will be of great benefit to each instructor in designing modules for blended or online delivery. It will also expose instructors to the use of digital media and the development of a student-centric learning experience.

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will be issued a Certificate in University Teaching.
