UTT Reservoir Engineering Student in Norway

Narishka Rampersad, final year M.Sc. Reservoir Engineering student has been selected from a field of 130 participants to attend an International Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Summer School Programme in Norway.

This programme, hosted by the Norwegian CCS Centre, is aimed at reducing greenhouse emissions in the recovery of oil. The reduction of the carbon footprint of the oil and gas industry is crucial to the quality of life we all enjoy.

During her time in Norway, Narishka will conduct research and give presentations on the importance of CCS. This coveted position makes her the only applicant from the Caribbean selected to be a part of this specialised training programme. Her newfound knowledge on the latest advancements in this area of industry, will contribute greatly to the University’s ongoing oil recovery projects.
