When should an application be made?
Office of RIPS receives applications throughout the year. Student intake occurs in September and January of each academic year.
What do I have to submit when applying?
Apart from Certificates and other personal documents there is one other critical document, i.e., the statement of research intent - a brief description of the research you are proposing to do.
What are the entry requirements?

MPhil - Bachelor's degree or Taught Master's degree

PhD - Master of Philosophy or Taught Master's with adequate research component
What is the total cost of the MPhil and PhD programmes?
Both programmes currently cost the same as indicated below for Trinidad and Tobago Nationals as follows:
COST PER CREDIT: TT $2,000.00
PROGRAMME COST: TT $24,000.00
SELF-FUNDED PROGRAMME COST (15% DISCOUNT) : TT $20,400.00
Please note that the programme cost is payable over a 2-year period; you may also ask about the Payment Plan. Therefore, a self-funded national is required to pay as follows:

NB: There is also a standard fee of $440 (comprising Registration $225, Guild $175, Insurance $40), which must be paid every academic year until the programme is completed.

How long does it take on average to complete the programme?
On average it takes 4 to 5 years depending on the nature of the research; and minimal personal challenges.
Is there a time frame for the programme to be completed?

Will I have an advisor or mentor to assist along the way?

At time of acceptance into the programme, a supervisor is assigned, if a supervisor is not found, the applicant is informed of the situation.

Once the student begins the programme, the student together with the supervisor also select/seek out persons to serve on an Advisory Committee. If necessary, a co-supervisor may also be sought.

What are the requirements to graduate?
- Complete all courses required with a minimum of B average
- Complete and pass MPhil Thesis or PhD Dissertation
- Complete and pass Oral Defence
- Complete all administrative responsibilities
