Simon Neptune, owner of Neptune Blue Energy

Simon Neptune, current uSTART entrepreneur and owner of Neptune Blue Energy has remarkable entrepreneurial spirit. As a Mechanical Engineering student at The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), he conceptualised an idea that had taken root since secondary school. Simon subsequently applied to be part of uSTART, the UTT Business Accelerator Programme and was successful in his application.

Neptune Blue Energy is primarily a clean-tech company with a vision is to improve the global quality of life through sustainable and disruptive technology. The company is currently developing a unique technology in the field of renewable energy and is scheduled to launch in 2016. The start-up firm has partnered with another uSTART business, Second Floor Studios, to develop visual designs.

Renewable energy is defined as energy that comes from resources which are naturally replenished on a human timescale, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal heat. Investing in green power is one of the easiest and most effective ways to improve the country's environmental performance and as the world goes green, Trinidad and Tobago cannot be left behind.

The company and its owner are both young in years, but they have much to look forward to in the future. uSTART wishes Neptune the best of luck in this task.
