Uttman Muhammad receives his official Red Force uniform from Cricket Operations Manager, Dudnath Ramkessoon
UTT’s High Performance Cricket team has a knack for producing quality cricketers since its inception over eight (8) years ago. The first of the lot was all-rounder Marlon Richards, who was part of the touring team to South Africa with the National Under-23 squad. Richards was able to force his way on to the Senior National team in 2013 after having a brilliant domestic, making his debut against the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC). Richards has proven his worth with the National outfit and currently has 52 wickets in his 19 first-class matches.
In recent times the mantra of hard work and dedication has defined left-hand medium pacer Daniel St. Clair, former UTT player. He was part of the National Senior team that toured Guyana under former National Captain and Senior Manager of Sport and Recreation, Daren Ganga. After touring Guyana, St. Clair was able to make his regional first-class debut against the mighty Jamaicans at the Queen’s Park Oval in 2014.
Lastly is Uthman Muhammad, who was instrumental in UTT’s elevation to Premiership status in 2008. The season prior to that Muhammad made over 700 runs and picked up 28 wickets for the University team. Muhammad will be making his debut with the Senior National team at the Queen’s Park Oval today against Jamaica. The University of Trinidad and Tobago wishes these players the best of luck.
