Reports in Trinidad and Tobago and around the globe indicate that an increasing number of forged, altered or otherwise fraudulent certificates are being submitted to employers and higher education institutions by applicants or employees seeking promotions. In some cases the persons presenting the qualifications are willing parties to deception and in others they are themselves unfortunate victims of fraud.

So how do employers and other stakeholders detect and deal with credential fraud? A one day interactive workshop on "Forensics of Academic and CV Fraud" will be held for staff of the Human Resources department on Monday 19th December 2011. Facilitator for the workshop will be Dr Ruby S. Alleyne, Vice-President, Quality Assurance & Institutional Advancement. Topics include: Global systems for Quality Assurance and Accreditation; The Power of the Internet; The Problem of Diploma Mills; and Detecting Fraudulent Credentials. A similar Worksop will be held for staff of the Registry early in the new year.
