The Office of Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness (QA&IE) has been entrusted with the task of researching, recommending and creating new technologies that would improve the day to day operations of the University. Such technology should be cutting edge, sustainable and primarily serve to improve analysis, communication and networking among departments. Additionally, the provision of advanced technology to various stakeholders such as staff, students and the wider community is of utmost importance to UTT's vision for the future.



Based on our mandate, QA&IE is pleased to make its first recommendation regarding innovative teclmology that will dramatically improve communication and data reporting. This technology involves the use of Tableau Visualisation Software to meet the specific needs of UTT.

Tableau Visualisation and Business Intelligence Software
Tableau Visualisation Software is a Business Intelligence solution, which  integrates  many databases and spreadsheet applications to produde feature rich reports and "what if' scenarios using trends and historical data from Finance, Student Services, Human Resources etc. This software was initially developed by Stanford University for its reporting and analysis needs and was given many awards by PC Magazine, DMReview and SQL Editor's Choice for its outstanding performance and ease of use.
