Utilities Engineering Unit Celebrates its first 5-year accreditation status!

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the United Kingdom (UK), has awarded the Utilities Engineering Unit with a 5-year accreditation status. The IET is one of the world’s leading academic accrediting institutions, which awards academic accreditation to higher education programmes that meet the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC).
The programmes that were presented and successfully accredited include:
- B.A.Sc. Utilities Engineering, Mechanical Option, Full Time and Part Time
- B.A.Sc. Utilities Engineering, Electrical Option, Full Time and Part Time
- NETD Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Full Time and Part Time
- NETD Instrumentation Engineering, Full Time and Part Time
The Panel was extremely impressed with the consistent level of excellence and high quality of the programmes throughout the years and initiated backdating the accreditation of the programmes. This means that programmes with a duration of three (3) years or less are now accredited from the academic year 2013, and programmes with a duration of five (5) years or more are now accredited from the academic year 2011.
