The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) received the prestigious award for “Best Energy Efficiency or Green House Gas Reduction Project” at this year’s Energy Conference and Tradeshow which was hosted by The Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago on January 23rd - 25th, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency.

Based on stringent criteria, UTT’s submission of the Electric Bus Project consisted of a detailed project report, a presentation before a panel of industry-based judges and the filming of a short video vignette. This successfully earned the approval of the judges, beating two (2) other entrants in the category, making it the first time UTT has won an award at this event.

Dr. Rampersad Motilal (h.c.), Director - The Energy Institute collected the award on behalf of the University.
