Mr. Deanesh Ramsewak - Senior Instructor (Marine Sciences Programme) attended the 3rd International Ocean Colour Science (IOCS) meeting in Lisbon, Portugal during 15th to 19th May 2017. The main goal of the IOCS meeting was to serve as a venue for the ocean colour community to communicate their views, ideas, concerns and issues with the satellite agencies. The IOCS-2017 meeting included keynote lectures, agency talks, breakout workshops, community discussions and NASA and Copernicus satellite services town halls and poster sessions. Mr. Ramsewak presented ongoing research at the Marine Sciences Programme entitled "Marine and Coastal Applications of Landsat - 8 OLI and Sentinel 2 A in Trinidad and Tobago". The meeting which was held as the Feira International de Lisboa (FIL) Conference Centre was convened by the International Ocean Colour Coordinating Group (IOCCG) and supported by the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission, NASA, Thales Alenia Space and Airbus with local support from the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA). Mr. Ramsewak’s attendance was funded by the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT).
