UTT Tobago Wolves Lead Successful Execution of UTT Tobago 5K- Powered by KFC

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) congratulates the Student Guild Tobago Chapter on its outstanding leadership and successful execution of the recent UTT Tobago 5K - Powered by KFC.

The event, organised by the Sport and Recreation Unit in collaboration with the Student Guild Tobago Chapter and the Student Support Services, brought together athletes, students, staff and members of the wider community in an energetic celebration of fitness, resilience and competitive excellence.

The race attracted participation across both male and female categories, with runners exhibiting commendable discipline, determination and sportsmanship - reinforcing UTT’s drive to holistic development, wellness and active lifestyles.

A total of 95 participants were recorded in the official results, reflecting an enthusiastic turnout and strong community support. The top male finisher was Elvis Turner, who completed the race in 21:27 minutes, while Yolanda Plato-Davis emerged as the top female finisher with a time of 36:55 minutes.

Two exceptional 11-year-old participants recorded inspiring performances, with Micha Hector finishing 6th in 25:19 minutes, while De’Maio Kennedy finished 24th in 35:06 minutes. The race also highlighted participation across all age groups, as the eldest competitor, Cecil Murray, completed the course in 33:08 minutes.

The 5K showcased the power of sport to unite the University and the public in a shared pursuit of health, excellence and community spirit.

The University of Trinidad and Tobago thanks all sponsors for their continued support and commends the Sport and Recreation Unit, the Student Guild Tobago Chapter, event coordinators Mr Mushtaque Mohammed and Mr Nicholas Lochan, both Senior Sport Officers, Sport and Recreation Unit and Dr Jason Stafford, Senior Manager, Student Support Services, for their commitment and dedication to sport and recreation initiatives.
