Woodwind Fest 2020

On October 15, 2020 Duo Extreme presented and performed for the International Woodwind Fest 2020.  Duo Extreme is a collaboration between Delaware-based clarinettist Christopher Nichols and myself.  The Duo connects the traditional sounds of early Calypso street bands with the cutting-edge sonorities of Trinidad and Tobago's national instrument, the steelpan. Duo Extreme is actively engaged in the commissioning of new literature for clarinet and percussion.  The audience for this festival was made up of professional and amateur woodwind instrumentalists.  The purpose of the presentation was to feature unusual instrument pairings.  The sample recording accompanying this article is the William Pfaff piece, Interlocking Colors.
