Arrangement for collaborative performance with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

In 2020, during the COVID 19 pandemic, Aidan Chamberlain of UTT and Amos Miller of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK, planned a joint online performance for their students.

Students met each other via Zoom and the method for recording was explored

Aidan Chamberlain arranged Pan in A minor by Aldwyn Roberts aka Lord Kitchener for a combined group of 4 trumpets, French horn, 4 trombones, tuba, guitar, electric bass and drumset. The brass players in the performance were from RBC whilst the rhythm section was from UTT.   The UTT group created a backing track following a guide track from Aidan Chamberlain and this was sent to Birmingham where brass tracks were added.

The final video was shared on youtube and was published to both RBC and UTT websites. Head of Brass Amos Miller said: "Covid has temporarily closed many doors for musicians and students, which has forced us to be more creative about international collaborations. We were delighted to be approached by UTT to share our respective musical heritages with our Trinbagonian colleagues. Music is all about what brings people together, and we all hope that this can be the start of a relationship that might one day result in some joint in-person performances."
