In January 2020, Assistant Professor Aidan Chamberlain was successful in applying for a grant through Massy Foundation to purchase instruments for a community-based music programme. He wished to serve his local community with a cost-effective programme that would offer early exposure to brass playing.

The brightly coloured pBuzz has been designed especially for mini musician’s little hands. Early exposure to a playful instrument like the pBuzz can help develop a child’s sensory and fine motor skills, encourage self-expression and stimulate imagination. The programme got off to a lively start, but like many others, was affected by the lockdown in March.

We are pleased to report that the programme has been successfully re-imagined as an online programme, offering students a much needed creative break from the rigors of their studies. Bravo to Assistant Professor Chamberlain for putting the A (for arts) back into STEAM education!!
