Abstract

Establishing a proper digitizing facility is our generation’s responsibility to preserve valuable information captured on obsolete analog mediums and outdated early digital formats. Digitization is one of the most effective available solutions for the long-term preservation of information. More significantly, digitization initiatives enable local societies to demonstrate the value of their cultural heritage on a global scale.

While introducing the current digitizing condition in our institution, this research aims to clarify the benefits and challenges of digitization and discusses the digitizing process, data management procedure and explores output models for future use of databases.
