Thursday April 4, 2019 saw the much-anticipated return of Art at the Hilton and the launch of a groundbreaking new internship programme developed by UTT’s Academy for the Performing Arts (APA) in partnership with the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre.  Based on an MOU between the two institutions, this project is the cornerstone of a broader programme allowing APA students to gain pre-professional experience during their studies.

Most students taking part at the outset are pursuing their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with specialisation in Music, and were accepted into the programme having fulfilled a range of demanding criteria and passed a live audition.  During their membership in the programme, performance interns are represented by APA’s new artist referral service APA Artists, and will be mentored by a small team of APA staff members.  Launch artists Daniel Roberts and Gabrielle Alleyne, will be followed nightly by fellow interns Eli Fuller, Terell Philips, Quinton Neckles and Lemuel Patterson through April 11, 2019.

Further iterations of the APA Internship are in development for students of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Media Arts.
