The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) Business Incubator- uStart, hosted its first workshop for 2020 entitled Cash Flow for Entrepreneurs. This session was held at UTT Valsayn Campus and facilitated by Mr. Ian T. Alleyne, Research Associate, The Academy for the Performing Arts who also lectures in business and entrepreneurship at our University.

Cash flow is the life blood of any business and in these times where there are changes in the economy, we recognise this as an opportune time to address this topic. The workshop covered two crucial areas: The Importance of Cash Flow Management and Cash Flow Forecasting.

Participants comprised uStart entrepreneurs, UTT graduates and applicants who either started or expressed an interest in starting their own businesses. The participants asked many questions as it pertained to their businesses and Mr. Alleyne – with extensive experience in entrepreneurship and having worked at two (2) leading financial institutions prior to joining the University- offered sage advice to the entrepreneurs.   Mr. Alleyne also stressed to the entrepreneurs, the need to perform regular cash flow analysis, review payment terms and the identify money leaks in the business.
