On Tuesday 14^th November 2017, UTT's Business Accelerator/Incubator (uSTART) hosted "Pivoting Your Ideation into Realisation." An informative,  interactive session presented by a Technology Commercialisation Panel comprising Mr. Ancel Bhagwandeen (recipient of multiple innovation/invention awards), representatives of the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs and staff of UTT's International Office and Grant Funding (IOGF). The event was held in recognition of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2017, which was observed from November 13^th to 19^th , 2017. UTT has been one of the main GEW collaborators since 2014.     

For one week, during the month of November, thousands of activities and competitions are hosted in 160 countries around the globe with the aim of engaging creative thinkers in entrepreneurial activity, while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and improve human welfare. Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, the initiative is supported by dozens of world leaders and a network of more than 15,000 partner organisations.

Over twenty-five (25) entrepreneurs, educators, creative thinkers and lifelong learners participated in the "Pivoting Your Ideation into Realisation" event. This included UTT faculty, staff and entrepreneurs, as well as, external stakeholders and business owners from partner agencies. Persons were able to gain insight into the inventive process, IP categorisations and benefits, and the proposal writing process.

UTT's uSTART team remains actively committed to advancing the University's overarching entrepreneurial mission. It is envisioned that the benefits of this event will have a ripple effect as it impacts the wider national entrepreneurial ecosystem.
