The UTT Patriots Netball team secured several pieces of silverware at the Courts All Sectors Netball League (ASNL) Awards Ceremony held on March 30, 2024 at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sporting Arena (ERISA), Tacarigua.
The league, which jumped off on January 6, 2024, celebrated its conclusion by highlighting the top achievements of participating teams and players across all divisions, from throughout the season.
UTT competed in the ASNL championship and premiership divisions, with the latter team going undefeated throughout the tournament.
The Patriots displayed its dominance capturing all titles in the premiership division, while recording the league's best team shooting average of 79.28% in the premiership division. UTT won the Opening Day Knockout, Steve Sarjeant Challenge Knockout, Courts Open Knockout and Fast5 Knockout titles. The premiership outfit also took home the League Trophy as they finished at the top of the table with 12 points after the league's first-round matches.
Individually, UTT Patriots Kalifa McCollin-Lopez, Daystar Swift, Chantael Perry, Jelissa Goodridge, Destiny Williams and Shaniya Morgan were all honoured for their outstanding performances.
McCollin-Lopez was named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the player with the best shooting average (88.18%) in the premiership category. Kalifa also made the division's MVP team and the league's All-Star Senior team.
Defensive specialist, Swift was named the premiership division's Best Defence Court, while Goodridge made the MVP team in the championship division.
Swift, Perry, Williams and Morgan were also selected for the All-Star Senior team. Inclusive of Kalifa, the UTT Patriots made up 42% of the team's delegation.
