Former UTT Patriots High Performance Netball athlete and national netball player, Jameela McCarthy, will be joining the Saracens Mavericks for its upcoming season in the Vitality Netball Superleague.

The elite club added the 6 ft-2-inch Goal Keeper and Goal Defender to bolster the Mavericks' defensive line-up.

In 2017, McCarthy was a part of the UTT contingent that travelled to New Zealand to compete in the Netball New Zealand Super Club competition. She was named "Player of the Match" following UTT's close 57-56 win over Marama Vou. McCarthy also represented UTT in the Premiership Division of the All Sectors Netball League locally.

The Vitality Netball Superleague is a top-level netball league in the United Kingdom, and currently consists of eleven (11) teams. The Mavericks have won the Superleague on two (2) occasions in 2008 and 2011, and will be seeking its third championship this season with the addition of McCarthy.
