The Trinidad and Tobago Creative Industries Company Limited, through its subsidiary FashionTT, partnered with ExporTT to develop a ‘Fashion Look Book’ concept which will showcase the garments, accessories and jewelry of local designers under the brand name ModeTT.

This Look Book is intended to develop new markets in the French Caribbean Outermost Regions (FCORs) and will be distributed to major boutiques and fashion retail outlets in countries such as Martinique, Guadeloupe and St. Martin.

Through a national open call to local designers, five (5) UTT fashion entrepreneurs were selected for a Fashion Runway Showcase after being interviewed by an expert panel.  They formed part of a total of only eleven (11) local fashion designers selected to showcase their work.

The UTT designers included:

  • James Hackett (Member of UTT staff and owner of Lush Kingdom)
  • Lynda Osbourne (UTT entrepreneur and owner of Fabulyn)
  • Greer Jones-Woodham (UTT entrepreneur and owner of AMEN Print House)
  • Lisa See Tai (Member of UTT staff and brand owner of Lisa See Tai)
  • Adrian Foster (UTT entrepreneur and owner of AF Adrian Foster)

UTT congratulates the fashion designers on making the final runway showcase, and highlights the collaborative effort of UTT’s Caribbean Academy of Fashion Design (CAFD) and UTT uSTART, as they continue to support UTT entrepreneurs.

The ModeTT event took place last Saturday at the Radisson poolside venue in Port-of-Spain. Ms. Lisa Sinanan, Programme Leader of UTT’s Fashion Management programme and member of the Board of FashionTT, and Ms. Florence Louis-Edouard, Senior Manager of UTT’s International Office and member of the Board of the Fashion Association of T&T, ably assisted in organising ModeTT.

The other local designers competing for this opportunity before a panel of local, regional and international fashion industry experts include Heather Jones, Ecliff Elie, Honamic Designs, Abby Charles Bene Caribe, Sew Lisa, CLD (Charu Lochan Dass), and Millhouse, with jewelry by Peaches Mc Dowell, Rachel Rochford and Korporate Kouture Jewellery.
