WorldSkills International is a unique, not for profit, international membership organization with a mission to raise the status and standards of vocational skills and training worldwide. Its principal activity is organizing the WorldSkills Competition in a different Member country every two years.

WorldSkills provides an opportunity for participants to display their knowledge, skills and abilities in a competitive setting. Hundreds of young students/trainees and apprentices gather from around the world to participate before government officials, industry leaders, sponsors, training providers and the media. They compete against their peers in as many as forty (40) skill areas that are assessed against demanding International Standards

On Oct 12^th, 2012 nine students from CAFD at The University of Trinidad and Tobago competed at WorldSkills Trinidad and Tobago. These 9 students had to fit the age criterion for the competition 15-28yrs leaving out many others who were also eager to enter.

UTT is proud and supportive of their students at WorldSkills in Fashion Design. The final leg of the competition will be held on Oct 18^th and 19^th as four students will proceed to the final. One winner will be crowned and  proudly represent T&T at WorldSkills International in Germany 2013.

Come out and support our young designers at John Donaldson Campus, The Creativity Campus  on Oct 18^th and 19^th from 9am-4pm. Viewing is open to the public.
