UTT Patriots Table Tennis student-athlete, Ameer Mohamed has been selected for the Trinidad and Tobago Male Under-19 National Table Tennis team, which will compete at the 2025 Caribbean Table Tennis Championships.

Mohamed is now part of a 23-member team confirmed by the Trinidad and Tobago Table Tennis Association following a two-day national trial which took place on January 4th and 5th at the National Racquet Sports Centre, Tacarigua.

Falling short in four matches in the first leg of play, Mohamed recovered in the second round claiming the last ticket to selection after defeating Gabriel John (11-2, 3-11, 7-11, 11-8, 13-11), Jonathan Cottoy (11-9, 11-8, 11-6), and UTT teammate Samuel Humphreys (11-5, 7-11, 11-2, 11-8).

The Championships will be held in Barbados in April 2025. Players who qualified will also represent Trinidad and Tobago in other regional and international tournaments this year.
