UTT Patriots Athletics student-athlete, Umar Sandy, captured first place in the Men's Discus Throw (2kg) at the National Association of Athletics Administrations of Trinidad and Tobago (NAAATT) Track and Field Series 1 and 2, with a distance of 48.35 metres and 51.44 metres (personal best), respectively.

Sandy, who has been averaging a throwing performance of 47.16 metres for the season thus far, secured his personal best and school record on his second attempt in the Series 2 Finals.

Both competitions were held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port-of-Spain on 14 and 22 January, 2023, which also saw UTT's contention in the Men's 100, 200 and 400 Metre Dash events.
