The Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship (MME) Unit hosted its annual award ceremony which recognises its top performers across all five taught programmes - Certificate in Applied Engineering (CAE), National Engineering Technician Diploma (NETD), Bachelor of Applied Science in Manufacturing and Design Engineering (B.A.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Innovation, Manufacturing, Management and Entrepreneurship (M.Sc.), and Master of Science (M.Sc.). in Innovative Design and Entrepreneurship. In keeping with William Thackeray’s statement "Next to excellence is the appreciation of it", the Unit hosts a yearly ceremony to honour and reward its highest achievers.

There were four categories of prizes:

• Student awards - awarded to students attaining the highest GPA of their programme and cohort, both full-time and part-time
• Project awards - awarded to students or groups of students attaining the highest project mark of their programme and cohort, both full-time and part-time
• CAE Leadership and Service Award- recognising a student leader who exemplifies outstanding leadership characteristics, and demonstrates the ability to build community through initiatives both on and off campus.
• IET Manufacturing Engineering Student Prize 2023 - a special prize awarded by The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) for best performing students in the B.A.Sc.  and M.Sc. programmes. Two of MME's programmes are accredited by the IET; the B.A.Sc. in Manufacturing and Design Engineering and M.Sc. in Innovative Design and Entrepreneurship.
