UTT MHA Graduate wins "Conference Delegate's Choice Best Poster" Prize

Mr. Corey George, a 2022 graduate of The University of Trinidad and Tobago, was awarded the prize for the Conference Delegate’s Choice Best Poster at the 2023 National Health Research Conference.

A Registered Nurse with over twenty years’ experience in the local healthcare industry, he began his career at the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA). Having served as a Registered Nurse, Head Nurse and Acting Nurse Manager, he understands the advantages of, and challenges facing the profession, locally.

Mr. George holds a Masters in Health Administration from UTT, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nursing Administration from The University of the West Indies (UWI), and a Diploma in General Nursing, with training in Total Quality Management and Childhood Cancer Registry Management.

At the community level, George serves as the Youth President of Alpha Ministries and volunteers his nursing services where needed. His research interest is in nursing care for children with cancers and blood disorders. To this end, he has served as a Research Nurse and Data Manager for the Sick Kids Caribbean Initiative, and a Data Manager for the American Society of Hematology - Children’s Consortium on Acute Leukemia.

Mr. George is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC), a Clinical Instructor with the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT).
