APA’s academic year runs from September to June with two big arcs of energy that build to EXPO in November and APAFEST in June.  As a result, the retreat of the Christmas holidays followed by the excitement of a New Year really feel like a change of gear followed by acceleration, and what acceleration we have planned this term!

Last year we piloted the Premium Event Series, featuring our very own UTT Ibis Ensemble.  This year we power into a new slate of concerts featuring not only splendid and varied Ibis offerings, but also the APA’s finest students in a new series entitled Slipstream.

Following the breakout success of the APA Panorama last year, this year we’ve afforded it a well-deserved place on the premium platform.  And last but not least in the realm of music, lovers of Jazz will be thrilled to take note of the visit by the Tent Music Festival Sextet hailing from the city of Freiburg in Southern Germany - an event hosted by APA under the auspices of the German Embassy in Port-of-Spain.

If last term’s Premium Event Series was a music-only affair, this year we change lanes to present Michael Cherrie and Belinda Barnes of the APA Acting Department in a reading of Love Letters by American playwright Albert Gurney.
