In March 2023, John-Paul Pantin was elected by members of the Trinidad and Tobago Pilots Association to serve as the Pilot Master, who oversees and co-ordinates pilotage operations ensuring compliance with regulations, assesses navigational risks, conducts pilot training, and fosters effective communication between the team and its stakeholders.

John-Paul is a graduate of UTT’s Diploma in Maritime Operations - Navigation Option, and during his career, he served on various types of gas carriers in different ranks for BP Shipping, Stolt Tankers and Exmar Shipping. Upon becoming a Pilot, he continued his personal and professional development, and successfully completed a Master of Science in Shipping Operations from the Warsash Maritime Academy of the University of Solent, UK.

Mr. Pantin was elected a Director at Bridge Control Services Limited in 2018, and served as the Corporate Secretary until 2020, when he was elected Chairman. Over the past year he has been instrumental in guiding the organisational transformation of the Company, coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. As Chairman, he was responsible for leading the Board of Directors and focusing on strategic matters, overseeing the Company’s business and setting a high standard of governance.

He is also a Part-time lecturer at The University of Trinidad and Tobago, a Marine Assurance Consultant for SBM Tanker Operations, a Regional Council representative of the Nautical Institute , and a member of the Latin American Pilots Association.
