The Maritime Studies Programme would like to join with the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) in congratulating Lieutenant Commander Kele-Ann Bourne on leading her first successful Trans-Atlantic Voyage of the TTS Carli Bay (TTCG 28).

Lt. Cmdr Bourne (CO) assisted by Lieutenant Jedd Corbie (XO) led the TTS CARLI BAY (CG 28) on her maiden voyage from DAMEN Shipbuilding Company in Gorinchem, the Netherlands along with the TTS Moruga Commanded by Lt. Both vessels did the Trans-Atlantic crossing to their final port in Chaguaramas Trinidad, covering a total distance of 4765 Nautical Miles over the course of twenty-four (24) days.

Lieutenant Commander Bourne, along with Commander Wayne Armour (Acting Commanding Officer of the TTCG) are both current students of the UTT MSc. In Operational Maritime Management programme. Lieutenant Jedd Corbie is a graduate of this programme.

The MSc. Operational Maritime Management prepares upper and middle management in the Maritime Industry with insights into Maritime Law, Economics, Safety and Environmental Management. It has enjoyed subscription from both the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard as well as the Maritime Industry.

The University of Trinidad and Tobago continues to support the TTCG in its training initiatives through its various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes as well as with its other professional short courses.
